"Pond Reflections" in acrylic

Who would have thought - me teaching art.  I have been in corporate business all my life - you know stress, deadlines, business lunches, driven etc etc.

A couple of years ago, I lept off the cliff, so to speak.  I left the security of corporate life to be an artist.
At first,I felt a little funny referring to myself as an artist, but now it's hard to think of myself as that other person.
Oh, I'm wandering.  Back to the subject.

I starting teaching - I must say it is so exhilerating to see people who thought they couldn't paint, doing great, expressive work.  It makes my heart zing!  Sharing and giving back to the community is so fulfilling - I just love the feeling.

I know my students feel the same - I hear them in the hall after class taking amongst themselves with so much excitment and wonder at the artwork they produced.  I think I have found a job that I love.  It's hard to call it a job - for that word "job" usually isn't associated with love.  I'm here to tell you it is possible!

Debra MacDonald of Chroma Interactive Acrylics came to "The Studio" and gave an in depth workshop on using Interactive Acrylics.  Several art teachers, plus artists from Henderson Art Assoc, City Lights, Vegas Art Guild, & Vegas Art Syndicate were invited.  This professional group of artists learned, shared and best of all had fun.

What a surprise, when I realized that a year had gone by.  I opened "The Studio", a clean, bright spacious atilier for artists to come together and paint and share techniques, art info and support each other in the pursuit of their passion - PAINTING.

We, the artists, not only had a party with all the accuctraments of a successful event (lavious foods, good conversation, laughter) but we created unique greeting cards.  Our friends and family are going to be surprised & delighted, when they receive a, one of a kind, original card from their favorite artist.  There were some incredibly creative & beautiful cards produced.

The weather was perfect, doors and windows opened - making it easy to get from the studio to the banquet of food, including a huge cake with ONE BIG CANDLE!
